Description
Description: Derived from visceral pleura of a 2-3 month old female Fischer 344 rat. The cells have the morphology of epithelial cells lining the pleura.

Growth Medium: Ham’s F12 + 2mM Glutamine + 15% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:5 i.e. seeding at 2-4×10000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
