Description
Description: Derived from a cervical carcinoma from a 31 year old female. This was the first aneuploid line derived from human tissue maintained in continuous cell culture. Susceptible to Poliovirus type I and adenovirus type 3. Identified as a contaminant in many other cell lines. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 2. Ethnicity: Black.

Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 1.3×10000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
