Description
Description: A differentiated cell line derived from H4-11-E-C3 (ECACC catalogue no. 85061112). A versatile tool for studying regulation of mono-oxygenase activities and analysing their role in the activation of xenobiotics e.g. carcinogens, drugs and pesticides.
Also Known As:
Species: Rat
Tissue: liver
Growth Properties: Adherent
Morphology: Hepatocyte
Growth Medium: Coon’s modified Ham’s F12 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) or kaign’s modified Ham’s F12 + 45mg/l asorbic acid +18mg/1 inositol + 10% FBS +2mM Glutamine
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4×10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2 37°C. We recommend a media change is performed every 2 – 3 days, if a media change is not done the cells may reach stationary growth phase prematurely at approximately 60% confluence and stop proliferating.
