Description
Description: Derived from the trunk tissue (excluding fins) of a 2 year old Brown Bullhead fish. These cells will tolerate a temperature range of 4-34°C. The optimal temperature range for cell proliferation is 25-30°C. BB is susceptible to infectious pancreatic necrosis virus and channel catfish virus.

Growth Medium: EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 23°C. Note: The cells do not grow well on glass. Fish cell lines detach easily during transit if the culture is too young. After resuscitation split cells 1:3 and culture for at least one week with 1-2 media changes before shipping.
