Description
Description: Subclone of parent line derived from 5 1-day-old unsexed hamster kidneys (Virology 1962;16:147). Used extensively for virus replication studies i.e. poliovirus, rabies, foot and mouth disease, VSV (Indiana strain), herpes simplex, Ad25 and arboviruses.

Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4×10, 000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
