Description: 11-4 is a HeLa cell line stably transfected with a firefly luciferase reporter gene under the control of the HSV-thymidine kinase promoter. 11-4 can be used to evaluate the non-specific transcriptional activity of chemicals.

Growth Medium: DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + 16µg/ml Blasticidin S HCL.

Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:4 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 2 x 10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.

Release Conditions: Yes – commercial organisations are required to complete the 'Cell Line Release Authorisation for Research Use in Commercial Organisations' release conditions form.
