Description
Description: Derived from BCL1 by limiting dilution and does not spontaneously secrete IgM when cultured in pre-tested batches of FBS. The line is useful for studying soluble factors involved in B-cell differentiation.
Also Known As:
Species: Mouse
Tissue: blood
Growth Properties: Suspension
Morphology: Lymphoblast
Growth Medium: RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Sodium Pyruvate (NaP) + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 0.05mM 2-Mercaptoethanol (2ME) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Maintain cultures between 3-9×100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C. Cells attach lightly to surface which should be tapped sharply to dislodge the cells. Do not allow cells to become confluent, subculture at 75% to 90% confluency; free-floating aggregates accumulate with time. Cells grow slowly after resuscitation and subculture and may take 48-72 hours until exponential growth is established.
