Description
Description: C2-Rev 7 is a revertant of the C2 variants, selected by virtue of its capacity to grow in glucose free medium (containing dialysed serum) where survival requires activity of the liver-specific gluconeogenic pathway. Expression of the entire set of liver specific functions is restored. Albumin and hepatocyte markers present.

Growth Medium: Coon’s modified Ham’s F12 (or Kaign’s modified Ham’s F12 + 45mg/L ascorbic acid + 18mg/L Inositol) + 2mM Glutamine + 5% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Split semi-confluent cultures (70%) 1:10 i.e. seeding at 9×1000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. Saturation density is reached at 15×1,0,000 cells/10cm² dish.
