Description: CRFK cells were isolated from the cortical portion of the kidneys of a 10-12 week old normal female domestic cat. CRFK are extensively used in feline virus research. Susceptible to herpesvirus and feline picornaviruses producing CPE. BVD Ag negative.

Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:8 i.e. seeding at 1-3×10000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
