Description
Description: Derived from a 16 year old male. Positive for EBNA, carries EBV markers, complement receptors, surface bound immunoglobulin and surface markers for the Fc fragment of IgG. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 2. Ethnicity: Black.

Growth Medium: RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Maintain cultures between 2-9×100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C. Cell numbers will increase 12 fold within 10-14 days provided fresh medium is added at 48-72 hour intervals. Cell growth can be slow on recovery from frozen stock. Resuscitate using 20% FBS, seeding at 3-4 x 100, 000 cells/ml and keep culture flask standing up until exponential growth is established.
