Description
Description: The cell line PEA-10 is heterozygous for a disruption of the gene for low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (LRP). PEA-10 was derived from fibroblasts from day 15 C57BL/6×129 F1 hybrid mouse embryos. Together with the cell lines PEA-13 (ECACC catalogue no. 97040311) and MEF-1 (ECACC catalogue no. 98061101) an experimental system is available for the analysis of cellular uptake of functionally diverse ligands and the effect of LRP deficiency. This is of importance since LRP deficient mouse embryos die early during gestation.
