Description
Description: Derived from trypsinised uterine tissue of an adult female Racoon. Pl.1Ut was developed for studies of feline and canine viruses since the Racoon is one of the few animals which is susceptible to both.

Growth Medium: EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:3 i.e. seeding at 2-4×10000 cells/cm² by washing 3 times with 0.255 trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. Finite lifespan; maximum 90 passages expected. Growth rate is very slow.
