Description
Description: Spontaneously immortalised rat bronchial epithelial cell line derived from a 4 month old male Wistar rat. The cell line is basal cell-like expressing cytokeratins 14 and 15. Vimentin negative. This is a slower growing derivative of the cell line RaBE, ECACC catalogue no. 04100601, adapted to culture medium without growth factors.

Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) between 1:100 and 1:800 i.e. seeding at 20,000 cells/25cm² with 5ml medium or 5×100,000 cells/75cm² with 20ml, using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. Subculture once a week, double volume at medium change after 4 days.
