Description
Description: A bone marrow-derived stromal cell line established by A Pessina in 1987 from a normal female 5 month old mouse. A bone marrow culture was treated with the supernatant from Y1 cells which actively produce viral C-particles (MuLV). This fibroblast-like cell line produces macrophage-colony stimulating factor (M-MCF) and exhibits a high sensitivity to fibroblast growth factor (FGF) in clonogenic assays. The cells produce sarcomas in syngenic mice and have a reported doubling time of 14.7 hours.
