Description

Description: Derived from a 69 year old Caucasian male with a kidney carcinoma. The cells contain microfilaments and multilaminar bodies. They also exhibit microvilli. The cells are tumourigenic in nude mice.

Growth Medium: McCoy’s 5a + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4×10000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
